Exciting news! Some of the groups on campus have joined together to put on an alternative Homecoming, for those who didn't get to go to one, or didn't have a great time at theirs when they did go. HeliX is one of the groups involved, and one Miss Yvette Petrovic has very kindly agreed to be our representative on the organizing committee*.

I am sure it will be a fantastic evening, and I am very much looking forward to it!

* And by this I mean she was volunteered and we are not letting her back out of it for any reason, right Jean-Phillipe?

I reduced my hours at Elpis last week so I could think about going to see my father before classes started again, and instead have had a project for HeliX fall in my lap.

I didn't really need a vacation, did I?

I have now remembered why I do not drink all that often - I feel awful. I went out with a group of friends from HeliX last night to celebrate the end of finals and they felt the need to keep me buying me drinks to belatedly congratulate me on being elected president for next year. Considering it was their idea, I think they were feeling a little smug about it.

Anyway! The point of the post is not to complain about being hungover, but simply to invite everyone to my and Callie's housewarming! I think I've moved everything of mine out of the mansion now (though I'll be back over the weekend to double check, Yvette, and to do any last cleaning that needs to be done), and it is officially very nice to be able to stumble home after being out late than having to crash on a couch. And I'm starting to like the area already - I haven't really spent much time in District X before now, and now that I'm free from school I'll finally be able to explore it properly!

But you should all come! I'll send out details via email for all of those interested, but it will be next Saturday (the 28th of May), and there will be plenty of food available, though if you do want to drink alcohol you'll have to bring your own.

I'm going to go find some aspirin.

I feel completely wretched. I honestly didn't think it would be possible to feel this bad, but I do. And hot. I never feel hot.

And it's now 4am and I can't get back to sleep, thanks to going to bed at around midday. It was only supposed to be a nap.

Hi everyone! For those of you interested, HeliX is hosting a Christmas party next week as something of a fundraiser/end of year event. Everyone is invited, not just HeliX members, and thus I hope I'll see quite a few of you there. I have some friends that have offered to put people up rather than having to try and get back to Westchester afterwards, so please let me know if you're interested.

My apologies to everyone - my brief trip away turned out to be quite a bit longer than I expected. I hadn't quite meant to be away for the whole summer.

But I have convinced ESU to take me back for the year despite my tardiness, and I have a lovely new roommate, and it is honestly nice to be back in New York. All I need now is a new job, and things would be perfect.

It's amazing how time flies, isn't it?

It is my birthday on Friday, and a group of friends from college have decided we are heading to Silver for the night. You are all welcome to join us if you like, we'll be there from 9.

Happy birthday, senhor de la Rocha.

Please don't eat the cake all in one sitting, if you do not expire from having too much sugar, it will most certainly all end up on your hips.

It's been a year since Apocalypse attempted to take over New York. I still can't believe it's been that long, even with the reminders all over the city with the reconstruction that's been going on.

They're holding a memorial vigil at ESU at the moment, and there's going to be a wrap-up memorial concert tomorrow night. Is anyone else planning on going?

I'm going home for a few days! My father would like to see me before the new school year starts, so I will be dashing down to Nova Roma for a few days at the end of the next week.

He's also said I can invite people to come with me, if anyone is interested! I'll be leaving on the 14th and returning on the 21st.

For those of you who don't know anything about my home, it's a small city in rainforests of Brazil. It is quite isolated, though it has established contact with some of the locals in the past two years. We do not often have visitors, let alone Americans, so I apologize in advance for any undue attention you may receive!

Please let me know if you're interested in coming, so I can make the arrangements!

I think I am going to go blind soon. As much as I love reading, between reading for class and reading for papers and reading up on old X-Men missions, I am fairly sure I won't be able to see by the end of May.

I am also going to kill the next person I hear eating in the ESU libraries, it's so revolting listening to people eat, and you just know they're getting that food all over the books they're using and that is revolting.

I have checked the weather report, and apparently we're due for some clear weather on Saturday! So I was thinking that would be a good time for the bonfire. I will be providing the fire and the smores, all you need to do is bring yourselves! And anything else you might want to consume.

So I may have snuck in a few days ago, surprise! I thought I'd give myself some time to settle in again before I launched myself on everyone! For those of you who I haven't met yet, a) why not! and b) I'm Amara. :D

Yvette and I had this awesome idea the other day - would people be up for a bonfire? I know there's been a lot of awful things happening recently, and I thought'd be nice if we did something as a group and everything. We have the wood and I'm going to head out and get a whole lot of stuff for smores, if people are interested!
